Apologies for the lateness of this post! Joey and I didn’t exchange presents until almost New Year, and I didn’t want to leave out the presents I received from him.
I’ve been profoundly lucky. My family and I perhaps go over the top in some people’s view when it comes to exchanging presents, but not with gruesome tat with no thought behind it. Besides, we don’t really “do” birthdays in our family so much.
So, let’s get on with it, shall we? If you’d like to read my 2017 Christmas Wish List – it’s here!
1) Fierce Shirts
I love Stranger Things, and my brother’s beautiful girlfriend Hollie bought me an amazing t-shirt! It looks wicked tucked into high-waisted jeans and the sleeves rolled up.
On a separate note, Hollie is an amazing illustrator and the nicest person ever. Her artwork is amazing, and if you read this, please support her by following her Instagram here and buying a print or two – her message is awesome!
Joey bought me this wicked Disney Villains Vogue-inspired t-shirt. I lost my mind when I opened it, yelling about how I’d only screenshotted it the day before, but apparently I’m going senile ‘cuz he says I’d shown it him a couple of months before, ha!
2) Tale As Old As Time
I’m a Disney-fiend, and Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film. My sister got me these great presents!
I collect Funko Pop! figurines and I love how cute this Belle one is, my phone case is adorable and I’ve barely taken my footlets off my feet! My brother actually got me the jewellery box – it’s grey and pink with rose gold writing and it fits in perfectly with my bedroom decor!
My friend Laura also got me this wicked book! It’s an official Disney one and I can’t wait to read a new twist on a favourite story!
3) Good Reads
My mum is a diamond for buying me new books to put in my Christmas bag. I’m determined to read most nights this year; my attention span is shite and I give up on books really early – I’m not doing it this time! This year I got Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, The Road by Cormac McCarthy and Happy by Derren Brown!
4) The Girl Who Lived
I feel like I’ve underplayed my obsession with Harry Potter, despite blogging about my trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour . . . I really do love the magical universe. I’d never seen these bags before, and I was so excited when I opened this off my sister! It’s the perfect bag to add a little personality to an outfit on a night out, and I love the colours!
I don’t know what house I’m in. There, I said it. I’ve tried to get Sorted so many times, but nothing ever feels quite right. I’ve always been pretty academic, but in terms of my personality, I’m a glue-eating Hufflepuff.
However, I’ve still not decided if that’s quite right, and green is my favourite colour. Some of the best characters are Slytherins, and my brother got me this gorgeous dressing gown! It’s so cosy – thin enough to wear year-round, but soft and I love the wide sleeves and big hood!
Holy shit, I’m the luckiest woman alive. Hollie totally spoiled my sister and I, buying us a Morphe palette each! It was so unexpected, but my one (the 25A Copper Spice one) is so perfect for me! It’s earthy, spicy and it’s shimmer shades are so bright! It blends beautifully, lasts all day and is so versatile!
My main present off Joey hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to keep crying until it does. He bought me the Kat Von D Saint & Sinner palette and I bawled for literal minutes. It wasn’t just that it was way too much on top of what he’d already bought me, it’s that’s he spent stupid money over the odds ordering it from Canada because it’s sold out in the UK and he knew how much I loved it. Bloody love that boy!
6) Lush for My Mush
I got not one, but THREE separate Lush gift sets this year, as well as several individual bath oils (my favourite product to buy), soaps and bubble bars. I very, very rarely treat myself to Lush bits, as they’re an indulgence that I can’t usually afford, so I was so made up to receive the Winter Garden Set, Christmas Candy Box and Jolly Hollydays!
A proper re-cap of these amazing sets was written here by Pop Sugar, but I’ll be writing more about my favourite bits from each soon!
7) Cosy Up!
Everyone gets cosy bits for Christmas, right? I’d asked for a grey and furry hot water bottle, and so my mama created a cosy little outfit of pink and grey by also buying me the softest pink and grey onesie you ever did feel, and these UNBELIEVABLE slippers to match! They’re mostly pink, with a blue-ish tie-dye and metallic, silver stars all over them.
My house is mega cold in the winter, and so I appreciate my mum making me all comfortable and saving me on my utility bill, too!
In addition, my mum also got me a selection of Yankee Candle votives in deliciously fresh scents, and my brother got me a large Beach Wood candle. I can lounge about with some great ambience!
Crikey, this blog is way longer than I anticipated (as usual)! I received lots of other absolutely wonderful presents, but I think it’s a marker of how stupidly fortunate I am that I’d be taking photos all day if I included everything!
I’m extremely lucky for everything I received, and I’m so happy that my family and friends enjoyed their prezzies.
If you’ve written one of these posts, please post a link in the comments – I love reading them!
Love and strength,
